The One Thing Method
The Photography Practice Club's secret sauce:
Your brain learns best when you teach it One Thing at a time.
In this course, you'll discover how to break down your favourite photos into bite-size skills you can master and then stack together.
Your Practice Pack makes remembering each individual skill effortless.
Now all you have to do is take yourself for a little stroll, camera in hand, and practice One Thing a day.

If you ask me (and you have, since you're here) traditional photography education is taught backwards.
As a former music teacher who specialised in an outrageously successful ‘song-first- theory-second’ approach, I KNOW there's a better way to learn.
Learning by Doing The Thing instead of Thinking About The Thing is infinitely more effective. Not to mention more fun!
Perfect exposure won't save a poorly composed photo. So why are we telling beginners to look at numbers on the screen instead of the world around them?
Get a beginner shooting with ease and confidence, competence, and creativity follow fast.
THEN you explore all the techy stuff. Because guess what? It's easy to understand now that you have some foundational context and experience under your belt.
This course will build that foundation for you, one easy practice session at a time.

FAQ
WHO IS THIS COURSE FOR?
Beginner, amateur, and hobbyist photographers who mostly shoot on auto.
DO I NEED AN EXPENSIVE CAMERA?
Nope! The skills you'll gain in Fun Foundations are applicable across all photography gear and niches, even your iphone.
I'M AN EXPERIENCED PHOTOGRAPHER, CAN I STILL ATTEND?
This is a beginner course, however if you need a refresher in composition, light, and the principles behind great landscape, portrait, and travel photos then there is a lot for you to gain here. You'll also learn the One Thing practice methodology, which you can apply to all photography skills down the line.
WHAT IF I MISS A LIVE SESSION?
Sessions will be recorded and available to re-watch for 1 month after the course finishes.
WILL THE COURSE COVER MANUAL MODE?
No. This short course is designed to get beginners ready to learn manual mode.
DO I NEED AN ADOBE LIGHTROOM SUBSCRIPTION?
To get the most out of the bonus workshop in Week 5, it is recommended you at least download a free trial of Adobe Lightroom or Lightroom Classic. We will cover the basics of photo editing and show you what a powerful tool it can be to enhance your photos. There's no need to invest in the software.
DO I ACTUALLY HAVE TO PRACTICE?
Yes! Practice = progress. You can't get fit thinking about the gym, right? You have to actually get in there! The same applies for creative skills.
But don't worry, the course is designed to make practice super easy and accessible. 20 minutes a day is plenty, and you can break it into 5 minute chunks.
